Vaccines are now available to everyone 12 and up. Here are some ways to sign up:
  • Register with VAMS: CDC portal used to schedule appointments at most vaccination sites
  • One shot Johnson & Johnson vaccines in Bridgeport, Appointment preferred, Walk-in also available.
  • Bridgeport Helpline 203-576-7993 English and Spanish.
    • Open Mon-Fri 10am-6pm, and Sat 10am-3pm
    • Schedule appointments at 3 Bridgeport Clinics
    • Report a homebound resident in need of vaccination
    • Get transportation to one of 3 Bridgeport Clinics
    • Schedule a mobile vaccination for a group, such as a church
  • Connecticut’s Vaccine Appointment Assistance Line 877-918-2224
    • Open Mon-Fri 8am-8pm – books appointments at sites around CT and will give you other numbers if you can’t find an appointment
    • Has a Spanish line, and interpreters available for other languages
  • Yale New Haven Helpline 1-833-ASK-YNHH (275-9644) for vaccine questions and scheduling
  • 211 Connecticut – map tool that includes all the options
  • Vaccine Spotter – site that has (fairly) up to date availability for the chain pharmacies
  • Some bigger sites have their own booking. Some open at midnight 4/1: Stop and Shop , Yale New Haven Health, Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, Hartford Healthcare (Unverified tips: appointments became available at midnight through Walmart, at 7am through Walgreen’s, 2pm for CVS, and also midnight on Sundays for CVS. Download the pharmacy apps and go on a few minutes prior to get signed in.)
Vaccine Facts CDC FAQS Do I need a vaccine if I already had Covid? Yes. Recovering from Covid does not protect you from getting reinfected by other variants or from spreading the virus to others. The vaccines will help protect you and those around you. What side effects are there to the vaccine? Mild soreness and headaches are normal within the first few days of getting the vaccine. What is the best vaccine to get? Three vaccines are currently approved by the CDC, the Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson, all of which are highly effective in preventing Covid deaths and illnesses. Who should and shouldn’t get vaccinated? People who have underlying conditions, are pregnant or nursing are encouraged to get vaccinated. Only the Pfizer has been approved for people 12+, the other two are for 18+ and children younger than 12 are not yet able to get any of these vaccines Once I’m fully vaccinated, what can I do? Fully vaccinated people can safely gather indoors with other fully vaccinated people without masks or social distancing. Everyone should still wear masks and social distance while in public because even vaccinated people can spread the virus to unvaccinated people. What if I don’t have ID? The CT.gov  website says “Individuals can still get the COVID-19 vaccine without insurance or an ID.”
